Who we are
The idea for the Ledor Vador Foundation was born within the Jewish Community of the Balearic Islands in 2025. The Community has been dedicated since its origin to the care and attention of the Jewish religion in the Balearic Islands.
Community leaders noted that they had left a space to dedicate their activity of great importance in the Balearic Islands, especially in Mallorca, which was Jewish culture, history and tradition.
At that moment the Fundació Ledor Vador was born, when the members of the community realized this void and decided to dedicate efforts and resources to the creation of a non-profit entity that would focus and dedicate itself exclusively to the culture, tradition and history of the Jews in the Balearic Islands.
The enthusiastic decision of its founders was to create a foundation that would focus on these three areas in their broadest sense, leaving religious matters to the Jewish Community of the Balearic Islands and politics to the politicians. The Ledor Vador Foundation decided that it would dedicate itself solely to the aforementioned areas, and that is its purpose: social, cultural, traditional, and historical.
What do we do?
The purpose of the Fundació Ledor Vador, as established in the sixth article of its founding statutes, is the study, promotion and dissemination of Jewish History, Art and Culture, understood in its broadest sense, with special attention to its development and peculiarities specific to Mallorca.
The Ledor Vador Foundation has clearly defined its activities and purpose: Jewish history and culture in Mallorca, with a special emphasis on its unique characteristics. It is essential to recover the memory of the Jewish presence in Mallorca throughout history.
The Ledor Vador Foundation will not focus on the historical record of the persecution of Jews in Mallorca, which unfortunately still exists today, but will go further and focus on culture without sectarianism or political bias. The aim is to present history objectively.

What do we want to promote?
We want to contribute to ensuring that Jewish culture has a visible, active, and participatory space in Mallorca. To this end, we promote activities that foster knowledge, reflection, and community.
The dissemination of Jewish history in Mallorca and the Mediterranean.
The organization of talks, meetings and cultural activities.
The celebration of traditions and significant dates of the Jewish calendar from a cultural perspective.
Collaboration with institutions, cultural and educational entities.
The creation of a space for community, exchange, and belonging.
